AFRC was an important part of Berchtesgaden's history. This area on the Website of the Obersalzberg Institute e.V. - a local non-profit organization created in 2003 to promote historical research and documentation of the area's past - is reserved for former personnell of the Armed Forces Recreation Center (AFRC) Berchtesgaden and its associated military branches (MP, health clinic, engineers etc.) who wish to provide recollections of their service in Berchtesgaden.
